We generally think of stress as something in our external world that is putting pressure on us, like our work for example. The more pressure we feel, the more “stressed” we become. However … what if I was to tell you that your own perception of the pressure, and how you feel about it, are really what you are up against most of all!? Imagine, for a moment, that you can simply turn down the level of pressure by understanding how your human mind works. Because pressure and stress are something that we in fact set for ourselves.

I’d like to add that ‘stress’ is a natural part of life, and it is a really positive thing when it motivates us to move forward, learn and evolve. We would just prefer that it remains in balance with the rest of our lives and doesn’t take over.

Many of my coaching clients would like to be able to handle the stressors in their life better. This is where I get to draw on the 3 Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought (by Sydney Banks) and the “inside out understanding”. Personally, when I got to grips with these ideas, I felt like my stressors diminished over night … and this is what I love to share with my clients.
